West Saltdean LAT
The West Saltdean LAT covers the eastern side of the Rottingdean Coastal ward, and its area of interest is bounded by Longridge Avenue to the east (west side plus all the properties under Lynwood Road east and west), the boundary lines between the farm buildings of Pickers Hill Farm and High Hill to the north, Cranleigh Avenue (east side) to the west, and the seafront between Longridge Avenue and Cranleigh Avenue to the south.
The LAT meets bi-monthly at the Saltdean Lido Community Centre and meetings are attended by ward councillors and representatives from; Sussex Police, East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service, Neighbourhood Watch (East and West Saltdean) Saltdean Community Association, Saltdean Residents Association, Rottingdean LAT, Woodingdean Youth Centre, St Nicholas Church, Saltdean Football Club and local businesses and residents. All residents are welcome to attend and the meetings are chaired by ward councillor Mary Mears, who can be contacted by email at mary.mears@brighton-hove.gov.uk The current policing priorities set by the LAT are:
- To reduce antisocial behaviour and criminal damage in Saltdean
- To improve the quality of life of the residents of Saltdean
- To encourage young people to engage in activities in the community
- To act in the best interests of the local community
