Stanmer and Coldean LAT

Stanmer and Coldean Local Action Team (SCLAT) covers the area of Coldean and Stanmer Village and falls within the Hollingbury and Stanmer ward.

SCLAT is bounded by Lewes Road to the east, Wolseley Road to the south (Thirty Acre Field area), Coldean Woods to the north (including Varley Hall and all of Coldean Lane) and the whole of Stanmer Village.

The LAT meets monthly, with meetings alternating between public themed discussions, and commitee business meetings which are not open to the general public. Public meetings are held in either the Coldean library or the local church hall, and 'commitee only' meetings are held in the Larchwood Extra Care housing scheme cafe.

SCLAT is chaired by Councillor Pat Hawkes, and meetings are attended by local Police, PCSO and Community Warden, the local Vicar, two Stanmer Village reps and four local commitee members. The themed meetings are open to the public and are advertised in the local community newsletter.

Anyone who agrees with the aims and can assist the objectives of the group are able to attend, and the commitee is elected at the AGM. For further information regarding SCLAT, you may contact the chair - pat.hawkes@brighton-hove.gov.uk  Results from a recent community survey regarding the LAT can be veiwed via the link at the foot of this page.
