The Racial Harassment Forum (RHF) is a multi-agency partnership that works towards tackling and reducing racist and religiously motivated incidents in Brighton & Hove.
The RHF members include representatives from the city’s Black and Minority Ethnic communities’ groups, voluntary organisations and statutory sector, for example Sussex Police, Probation Services and Brighton & Hove City Council. The Forum is led by an elected Community Chair and meets quarterly, its working groups meet more frequently.
The RHF develops good practice, shares information, and monitors progress and achievements. The RHF fulfils the function of a multi-agency monitoring group in keeping with the Stephen Lawrence Inquiry recommendations and aims to increase trust and confidence in the statutory agencies amongst the Black and Minority Ethnic communities. The Safe in the City Team, supports, coordinates and facilitates the Forum and its work.
