Clarendon LAT

The Clarendon Local Action Team (CLAT) area is in the west side of the Goldsmid ward, and has as its main focus the area bounded by Sackville Road, Conway Street, Goldstone Villas and Clarendon Villas. CLAT is one of three LATs in the Goldsmid ward and currently meets in the Vallance Community Centre which is at the base of Conway Court off Clarendon Road. Of the other local LATs, the Goldsmid Local Action Team (GLAT) focuses on the eastern side of the ward from Denmark Villas to Seven Dials, and the Portland Rd & Clarendon Forum (PRCF) cuts across several wards boundaries to focus on Portland Road and surroundings.

CLAT is chaired by ward councillor Melanie Davis. Meetings are attended by ward councillors, police, council officers and a wide range of community representatives. If you represent a group in the area and would like to attend future meetings, or have any other questions about CLAT you may contact Councillor Melanie Davis: [email protected] 01273 290353 or click on the link below to read the latest minutes.

The local policing priorities identified for the Clarendon area by LAT members are:

  1. To reduce dog fouling in the area
  2. To reduce the incidence of 'free runners' on Saturday mornings at the front of Conway Court
  3. To reduce damage to vehicles in the local area
