FAST training

http://familiesmatter.org.uk/

In response to our communities request, we have invited Saleha Jaffer, CEO of the FAST (Families Against Stress and Trauma) to deliver a two hour workshop in the City.

Understanding Vulnerability to Radicalisation

FAST Workshop

 Day & Date: Monday 13th March 2017

Time: 10 am – 12 noon

Venue: Council Chambers, Hove Town Hall.

The workshop focus is on equipping mothers with the means necessary to identify the signs that someone they know might be under the influence of radicalisation.

 The workshop will cover:

 radicalisation vulnerability factors, behaviour online,
how to stay safe online, and
a selection of possible signs of radicalisation.

FAST supports vulnerable families and individuals whose lives have been affected by the trauma of losing loved ones to hateful ideologies and groups (such as young people travelling to join conflict in Syria or Iraq).   They also help those families who may be worried about their loved ones possible involvement with terrorist groups or ideologies or acts of terror in the UK.

FAST would like to prioritise all mothers, including Muslim mothers to attend the workshop in the first instance.  We would consider supporting women with child care and language needs to enable their attendance.  Please advise us of any particular support needs.
