Communities across Brighton & Hove stand together as One Voice

Following the incident at the Al Noor Mosque and Linwood Islamic Centre in New Zealand early this morning, the city’s One Voice Partnership strongly condemns this act of violence on innocent people.

We do not tolerate violence against innocent people, wherever it takes place.  Together we speak with one voice against extremist perspectives and terrorist actions in the city and elsewhere.

Understanding And Challenging The Far Right

On our communities’ request, we are offering a number of training sessions to raise awareness of Far Right Groups, their narratives, and techniques used to recruit people.  Community Members and Faith Leaders will hear from people who were formerly involved with far right groups to understand the working and dangers of far right, identify and support individuals vulnerable to being drawn into far right activities, and counter far right ideology.

The Brighton & Hove ‘One Voice Partnership’ reaffirms that communities, council and police stand together in solidarity following the tragic incident in Pittsburgh over the weekend.  We do not tolerate violence against innocent people, wherever it takes place. The successful use of restorative practice to repair harm in a supported accommodation project

Anti-social behaviour and crime significantly harmed a supported accommodation project. The manager of the project and the Community Safety Casework Team (CSCT) worked collaboratively using restorative approaches to repair the harm.

A candlelit Vigil and Reading of Names at New Steine Gardens, Kemptown, Brighton will take place on World Aids Day on Friday 1st December 2017, between 6pm - 7pm.

Transgender Day of Remembrance 

This is an annual observance on Monday 20th November that honours the memory of those whose lives have been lost in acts of anti-transgender violence

The LGBT Workers forum is honoured to support the Brighton & Hove Transgender Day of Remembrance event in Dorset Gardens Church on Sunday 19th November between 2pm and 5pm.

The event is being organised by the Trans Alliance and everyone is welcome to attend.
