Flat shutdown after complaints of wild parties and violence
A flat at the centre of 24 hour parties, violent physical assaults and illegal riding of motorbikes, in Powis Square, a quiet, residential area in central Brighton, has been shut down for three months. Brighton magistrates imposed the Section 80 Closure Order, after hearing evidence of one of the worst and most violent cases of anti-social behaviour that the council has ever investigated.

It is about stepping in to help vulnerable people at risk of being recruited by terrorist or extremist groups, whether in this country or encouraged to travel abroad, and safeguarding individuals and the community as a whole.
PAVILIONS Families & Carers Counselling Service – Brighton
The PAVILIONS Families & Carers service are currently recruiting Volunteer Counsellors to provide 1:1 counselling for people who are caring for or are involved with relatives, close friends and significant others using substances.
This service provides stepped support to the families and carers’ of substance users in Brighton and Hove.
The Counselling Service is one of the treatment options available to relatives who are affected by someone who has a substance use problem.

Racially abusive man prosecuted and barred from city’s taxis
A criminal anti-social behaviour order has been put on a Brighton & Hove man after a number of racially motivated crimes against taxi drivers in Brighton & Hove.
John Michael Hughes, 50, of Dean Gardens, Portslade, appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court charged with racially aggravated crimes and causing intentional harassment, resisting arrest and criminal damage.

FIRST CRIMINAL BEHAVIOUR ORDER OBTAINED
On 28th November 2014 Brighton and Hove Community Safety Partnership successfully applied for its first Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO). Criminal Behaviour Orders were made available under the ASB, Crime and Policing Act 2014 which came into place on 20th October 2014. These orders replace Anti-social Behaviour Orders (ASBOs) and have the benefit of the courts being able to include positive requirements in the order as well as prohibitions.
Brighton and Hove World AIDS Day events - 2014
The Brighton and Hove World AIDS Day community partnership (Bear Petrol, BHCC LGBT Community Safety team, G scene, Lunch Positive, Peer Action, Sussex Beacon, Terrence Higgins Trust Brighton, The Sussex Ecumenical HIV Chaplaincy and AVERT) has released final events to mark this years World AIDS Day on 1st December 2014.
